About
Bekalu is a multidisciplinary engineer with a strong electrical engineering background and a graduate degree in computer science. He earned over 8 years of experience programming in Python for IoT automation, back-end developmenet, data clensing, wrangling and visualization to mention few. Having worked across various roles in engineering and IT in the U.S., Germany, and Ethiopia, Bekalu developed technical depth and adaptability to tackle any challange.
Pragmatic, clear communicator, and always learning, Bekalu enjoys working in collaborative environment and building solutions that deliver strong value.
Data Engineering :
Experienced in building fully automated ETL (Extract–Transform–Load) pipelines on AWS using Python, MQTT, Databricks, AWS S3, DynamoDB, and more — transforming raw, multi-source, multi-format data into a centralized source of truth (master data) that delivers up-to-date insights powering dashboards in Power BI and Grafana, enabling organizations to make data-driven business-critical decisions faster, reduce manual reporting, and cut cost.
PLC and HMI :
Hands-on experience with CODESYS and PLCs (IDEC and Allen-Bradley), developing both control logic with structured text (ST), ladder logic (LD) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) for Industrial and Building Automation Systems (BAS). Built solutions for soft starters (e.g., star–delta), VRF systems, lighting control, HVAC, water tower automation, and other applications, reliably controlling field devices over communication protocols (Modbus TCP/IP, EtherCAT) using OEM communication interfaces.
